I just bought my first house, and it is not where I expected to buy a house. I thought I would buy a house in my home town. But my wife has convinced me to move to Texas, which is where she is from, and so I have decided to go along with her. We have purchased a house, and I am pretty happy with the house that we have bought. It definitely is a nice looking house. I need to find a list of Texas electric rates right now. I have a list of things that I need to get done, and one of those things, is to try to get the electricity hooked up.
I did not realize there were so many different electricity comapnies to choose from, before I moved to Texas. It is kind of baffling to me, because where I am from, only one electricity company provides electricity to a given region. So this is quite a different situation. I wonder how close to the house, the energy is generated. It seems like the further it has to be transmitted, the more energy that would be lost to the inherent resistance of the power lines. I am the type of person that cares a lot about efficiency.
So it seems like a company that is generating electricity closer to my house, should be able to offer me a lower rate on their electricity. That is provided, that they are actually manufacturing their electricity at an equally efficient rate to their competitors. That might not be the case though, and it depends on how they are generating electricity. I am going to try to figure out some of this information, as I think it will really help me to make a decision on a electricity company.
